How to Update Your Bio, Name, and Status
The Edit Profile screen lets you manage your display name, bio, and status message. All changes auto-save as you type, so there is no need to tap a save button.
Editing your display name
- Open the Edit Profile screen.
- Tap the Name field and type your preferred display name.
- Your name can be up to 30 characters long.
- Changes save automatically as soon as you finish typing.
Writing your bio
- On the Edit Profile screen, tap the Bio text area.
- Write something about yourself. You have up to 300 characters -- a character counter appears so you can keep track.
- Your bio saves automatically.
Tips for a good bio
- Mention your interests, hobbies, or the kind of connections you want to make.
- Share what kind of connections you are looking for.
- Keep it friendly, genuine, and positive.
- Avoid sharing personal contact details like your phone number or email.
Setting a status message
A status message is a short, temporary note that appears on your profile -- great for sharing what you are up to right now.
- On the Edit Profile screen, tap the Status Message field.
- Type your status (up to 40 characters).
- Tap the timer button next to the field to set when the status expires. Options include:
- 1 hour
- 6 hours
- Midnight
- Other available durations
- Once the timer expires, the status message is automatically cleared.
Show age setting
On the Edit Profile screen you will also find the Show Age setting, which controls how your age appears on your public profile. There are three options:
- Exact age -- Displays your precise age (e.g. "36").
- Age range -- Displays a 5-year range based on your age (e.g. "35-40").
- Hidden -- Your age is not shown on your profile at all.
