Managing Your Conversations
Winklr gives you several tools to keep your inbox organised, from deleting chats and muting notifications to filtering conversations.
Deleting a chat
To delete an entire conversation:
- Open the conversation you want to remove.
- Tap the ellipsis menu in the chat header to open the Chat Info panel.
- Select Delete Chat.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Deleting a chat removes the full conversation history from your inbox.
You cannot unsend or delete individual messages once they have been sent. Deletion applies to the entire conversation only.
Muting conversations
If you want to stay in a conversation but stop receiving notifications for it:
- Open the conversation.
- Tap the ellipsis menu to open Chat Info.
- Tap Mute.
To start receiving notifications again, return to Chat Info and tap Unmute. You can also mute or unmute a chat from the conversation settings in your inbox.
Pinning chats
You can pin important conversations so they always appear at the top of your inbox. To pin or unpin a chat, access the conversation settings from your inbox.
Organising your inbox with filters
Your inbox includes filter chips at the top of the screen to help you quickly find conversations:
- All -- Shows every conversation.
- Online -- Shows only conversations with people who are currently online.
- Unread -- Shows conversations that have unread messages.
- Favourite -- Shows conversations you have marked as favourites.
- Invites -- Shows new conversation requests and tap/wink invitations.
Additional inbox features
- Pull-to-refresh -- Swipe down on your inbox to refresh and load the latest conversations.
- Infinite scroll -- Your conversation list loads more chats automatically as you scroll down.
Reporting and blocking
From the Chat Info panel, you also have access to safety tools:
- Report -- Select a category (Spam, Harassment, Inappropriate, Scam, or Other) and add a description to report a user.
- Block User -- In private chats, blocking a user will also delete the conversation.
